Platinum Beauty Studio
Frequently Asked Questions
A few things you might be wondering before your appointment at Platinum Beauty Studio.
Because I've never worked with your hair before, and I'm not about to pretend I know everything about it in the first five minutes.
I want to understand your hair history, what you love, what drives you crazy, and what you're hoping to accomplish.
Here's how I see it: The execution of a haircut or color can be technically perfect, but if it's not what you wanted, what was the point?
That's why I make time for a real consultation. Not a rushed conversation before we get started.
If it's been 12 months or longer since your last completed appointment, yes.
A lot can change with your hair in a year, and I want the extra time to reassess everything properly.
If you've visited within the last 12 months, you can book from my Returning Guest Services.
You can book online through my website at www.stephaniemiller.net.
If you've never visited, or it's been 12 months or longer since your last appointment, choose New Guest Appointments.
Otherwise, choose Returning Guest Services.
Pick the appointment that best fits what you're looking for, and we'll take it from there.
It depends on which service you're booking!
All of my full-service color appointments include your haircut. I've already built the time into your appointment, so there's no need to book it separately.
Express maintenance services, like glosses, root touches, and mini foils, do NOT include a haircut.
Here's the easiest way to think about it:
Color Roots to Ends: One solid color from roots to ends. No highlights.
Partial Transformation + Custom Root Color: Think partial highlights plus a customized root color.
Full Transformation + Custom Root Color: Think full highlights plus a customized root color.
Not sure which one fits? Start with the service that sounds closest to what you're wanting. We'll go over the details together.
It means I choose the root-color approach based on what your hair needs and the result we're trying to achieve.
That could mean covering gray, softening your natural color, blending your roots, or creating a smoother transition.
It's already included in your transformation appointment. You don't need to book it separately.
Then we'll figure it out together.
You don't need to know salon terminology or show up with a perfectly thought-out plan.
Tell me what's bothering you, what you like, and what you're hoping to change. Asking the right questions and helping you sort through the options is part of my job.
Absolutely. Bring the pictures you love, the ones you're not so sure about, and even pictures of what you definitely DON'T want.
Sometimes figuring out what you dislike tells me just as much as what you like.
We'll talk through what's realistic for your hair, your lifestyle, and the maintenance you're comfortable with.
Maybe! But we'll need to talk about it first.
Your starting color, hair history, texture, condition, and maintenance preferences all play a role.
I'm not going to promise something your hair can't realistically do. I'd much rather explain the options and come up with a plan we're both confident about.
That's perfectly fine. We start with where your hair is today, not where it was six months or six years ago.
We'll look at its current condition, talk about your goals, and figure out a realistic plan.
You're definitely not imagining things. Hair can change in texture, density, color, and behavior throughout different stages of life.
Hormonal changes, stress, medications, and other factors can all play a role.
I love figuring out what's changed and adjusting your haircut, color, or routine to work with the hair you have now.
Absolutely not.
Want to chat the whole time? Great. Need a little peace and quiet? Also great.
It's a private salon suite. You don't have to entertain me, and I promise I can handle a little silence.
